Summerville Sitters began with a simple idea: families deserve care they can trust, and sitters deserve to feel valued and supported.
Founded by longtime friends Maureen McManus and Katelyn Gibbs, our network was built to bring warmth, reliability, and peace of mind to families across the CSRA.
We draw on years of hands-on care and genuine relationships to create something special: a trusted local network that connects families with sitters who share our same heart for service, responsibility, and community.

Meet Katelyn & Maureen
Katelyn Gibbs
Maureen McManus
Kate Gibbs and Maureen McManus share a lifelong love of caring for children, pets, and the people who make a community feel like home. Between them, they bring decades of hands-on experience, from neighborhood babysitting to full-time nannying, pet sitting, and serving as au pairs abroad in Spain and Italy.
Kate combines warmth, humor, and professionalism with years of experience in the corporate world and real estate. Whether she’s connecting with families and friends, engaging with children, or accompanied by her Boykin Spaniel, Lady- her loyal sidekick-Kate brings a thoughtful and energetic approach to everything she does.
Maureen brings creativity, kindness, and a joyful spirit to her work, drawing on a background that spans professional nannying, nonprofit leadership, and family-focused community programs. She approaches every day with compassion and enthusiasm, and is often seen doting on her tuxedo kitten, Isa, her constant companion.
Together, they are passionate about helping others feel supported and valued. They founded Summerville Sitters to make dependable, high-quality care easier to find and rooted in the relationships that make Augusta and the CSRA feel like family.
